In a surprising partnership that challenges conventional forecasts, the game developer has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Disclosed

According to the official statement, "An unusual encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of banned practices and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The storyline features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.

The adventure centers on "strange tests and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Transformations

The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Additional Features

Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana together with numerous items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Newest Free Story Update

This patch also introduces the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
