I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.
Former twice unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly happening.
